About SMME's

About SMME's

The man who makes a success of an important venture never wails for the crowd. He strikes out for himself. It takes nerve, it takes a great lot of grit; but the man that succeeds has both. Anyone can fail. The public admires the man who has enough confidence in himself to take a chance. These chances are the main things after all. The man who tries to succeed must expect to be criticized. Nothing important was ever done but the greater number consulted previously doubted the possibility. Success is the accomplishment of that which most people think can't be done.

Since the beginning of time people have or a born with this mentality that the Government should do for them. Our people do not want to do things for themselves they are waiting for the government, for what? (Only god knows!!!) if I was to ask people about 8 in 10 people will say the famous line “angazi.” Which where is SMME’s came in.

Since 1994, we have been faced with the double challenges of re-integration into global markets as a global economy, while at the same time positioning itself to realise the high expectations of its populace regarding a successful transition towards a more democratic order

The small and medium-sized enterprise sector better known as (SMME’S) carries the hopes of government, being advocated by conventional economists as the solution to unemployment in the global market. Although there is little reliable on success rates, but it is known that about 80 percent fail in the first year, and most of the rest are gone in less than five years.

To achieve the objectives of economic growth through competitiveness on the one hand and employment generation and income redistribution as a result of this growth on the other, South Africa's small micro and medium sized enterprise (SMME) economy has been actively promoted since 1995. Despite voluminous research, however, there is still little clarity about the extent to which South Africa's SMME’s contributing to poverty alleviation, economic growth or international competitiveness.
