UKHOZI FM CELEBRATE INDIGENOUS SA LANGUAGES
UKHOZI FM EMBARKS ON A CAMPAIGN TO CELEBRATE INDIGENOUS SOUTH AFRICAN LANGUAGES THIS HERITAGE MONTH
Ukhozi FM is pleased to announce that during this Heritage Month, the station is taking the Ukhozi FM listener on a journey around South Africa, to expose and educate them to the various indigenous languages that make up South Africa's rich cultural tapestry.
The station's various shows have selected different languages and have reached out to other SABC stations to assist in sourcing relevant experts to assist in this educational campaign. These including RSG; Munghana Lonene FM; Phalaphala FM; Motsweding FM; Lesedi FM; Thobela FM; Ligwalagwala FM and Ikwekwezi FM.
The Heritage month campaign forms part of the continued celebrations of Ukhozi FM's 60th year of excellence in broadcasting, which has already been marked by campaigns such as the 6 Eras of Ukhozi FM in June, the 60 Days of Ukhozi FM campaign, the release of the 60th-anniversary music compilation album executive produced by Lebo M in July and the announcement of its first-ever Winnie Mahlangu Presenter Search winner in the month of August.
Ukhozi FM Acting Station Manager, Ms. Sbongi Ngcobo stated "We are excited to take our 7.6 million listeners on this educational journey which seeks to unite us through language. This campaign aims to highlight the commonalities that we share despite our different languages as South Africans. We also aim to be the vehicle through which listeners can get to experience the various rich cultures that our country has to offer and celebrate what makes us uniquely South African."
The various shows will be tackling the following languages:
