Sports Producer and Presenter

Born in 1 January 1981, in a rural area called Ekhwezi near the small town called Harding in the south of KwaZulu-Natal he grew up in a family of 8 children and was raised by his late parents. “I learned life skills from my parents who taught me a way of life as a Christian” said Irvin.

Irvin says his first encounter with a microphone was when he was announcing specials in a store using the public announcer (PA) system.

“I used to enjoy calling out specials or items on sale. I used to hear people saying this boy has got a nice voice. I never new I will use the same voice to influence the world”.

Irvin Sihlophe, who was a part time shop worker during school holidays and weekends, developed love for microphone from 1992 when he started working for the supermarket in Harding. The irony is the very same shop owner was also influential in opening doors for Irvin to work in a community radio station Radio Khwezi few months later after matric.

He worked for Radio Khwezi from 2001 – 2005.  This opened opportunities to study journalism through various institutions between 2001 and 2005.

He joined UKHOZI FM as a religious programmes producer and presenter for UNkulunkulu Nomuntu Omusha, morning and evening devotions from 2005 to 2007.

He then worked as a late night show producer from November 2007 to March 2008.

From 2008 up to date he has been the producer and presenter of Sports on UKHOZI FM.
