Simthande Myeza (29) is a Durban-based award-winning radio personality, TV actor, stand-up comedian and social media sensation. Popularly known for his alter ego character, “MakaThangithini” on socials and born in Nkandla, North of KwaZulu-Natal, Myeza’s radio career began in 2015 at the campus radio station, Radio DUT.
In 2016, he joined Radio Khwezi where he spent seven years – reading news, producing, and presenting prime-time shows. In 2022, he was nominated at the SA Radio Awards for Best Afternoon Drive Presenter, Best Content Producer, Bright Star and Best Documentary. He won Best Content Producer and Bright Star.
In December 2022, he left radio to focus on creating content on socials, perform stand-up comedy, and landed a role in South Africa’s most-watched TV show Uzalo on SABC 1 – where he starred as “Aunt Rhoda.”
