Zama Mseleku was born on March 23, 1992, and raised in KwaNyuswa, a rural area on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, Port Shepstone. After completing her high school education at Zuzicebo High School, where she matriculated in 2009, Zama pursued her passion for the arts by enrolling in Performing Arts Studies at Icesa College, where she developed her skills in preparation for a career in broadcasting.
Zama began her broadcasting career in 2012 as a radio presenter at Ugu Youth Radio in Port Shepstone. Her natural talent and commitment to her craft quickly made her a standout, leading to her move to Radio Sunny South in 2016, another local station in Port Shepstone, where she continued to grow her presence and audience.
A significant milestone in Zama’s career came in 2020, when she won the inaugural Ukhozi FM’s Winnie Mahlangu Female Presenter Search. This prestigious achievement propelled her into the limelight, and in 2021, she officially joined Ukhozi FM. Zama began hosting “Luyazamazama Ukhozi”, an early morning show on Sundays from 03:00 to 06:00 AM, where her engaging delivery and dynamic style resonated with listeners. Her ability to connect with audiences quickly solidified her reputation as a versatile and talented presenter.
In addition to her radio career, Zama has gained recognition as a sought-after Master of Ceremonies (MC), hosting major events such as Nyusivolume 2022 and the Mother of All Maskandi Festival 2024. Her versatility has also seen her involved in prestigious events like the Dundee July and the South African Traditional Music Awards 2023.
In 2024, Zama embraced new opportunities by taking on the role of host for “Ziyawushaya”, a Saturday morning show from 07:00 to 09:00 AM, and she currently hosts the popular “Dabulukusa” show from 00:00 to 03:00 AM Monday to Friday.
