Khetha Gwala became one of the winners of the DJ competition that was ran by Ukhozi FM in their efforts to scout for new and vibrant talent. The competition was held in 1988 whilst he was still a student at then Natal Technikon (now called Durban Institute of Technology).
During his time at the technikon, Khetha was already hitting the airwaves in Campus Radio. When he won the competition, it became obvious that he was destined to become one of the top brands in the broadcasting industry, and having been chosen to broadcast for the biggest radio station was the highlight of his career. Thereafter he got the opportunity to join the music team as a Music Compiler, a position that he currently still holds.
Khetha is well known for his love for House Music as well as DJ-ing in Clubs every now and then. His previous slots on Ukhozi FM are Top 20 and Party Time on Saturdays from 18:00 to midnight and he also did the Magazine programme on Thursdays and Fridays, from 19:00 to midnight.
