After he matriculated at Siyanda High School in Pietermaritzburg, Mshengu made his name as a Field Reporter at Radio Martizburg.  He trained in Television and Media Studies at ICESA.
He started working as a freelance Journalist and worked for various community newspapers and national newspapers such as Taxi, Ikhwezi , Isolezwe, ILANGA, to name just a few.
He then joined the Durban Youth Radio (DYR) and became a host of a Current Affairs News Program.
His Radio credits include host for the “Love Zone” (The midnight music show), Wushikishi Masikandi Music Show and Imbizo (The Talk Show). He was also a News Reader, Weekend News Bulletin Editor, Producer, Researcher and Radio Script Writer.

He then joined ILANGA Newspaper as a General News Reporter and he was moved to ILANGA LeTheku where he worked as a Senior Entertainment Reporter where he also became a Dr Love Columnist.  One of his proudest moments was when he was invited to attend the various weddings of the couple he introduced through his column.
He also acted at several time as an Acting Editor for ILANGA LeTheku. His versatility and blend of talents have seen him in demand not only in the media environment, but in the corporate and academic sector too.

In 2008 April he joined Ukhozi FM as a host of a Talk Show called “Sikhanyisele”, because of his journalistic skills he was selected to interview the Station Manager Mr Welcome Bhodloza Nzimande when Ukhozi FM launched its new logo.

“I love radio more than anything and I think abantu angikabenzeli lutho, kusekuningi okuseza, uma nje uNkulunkulu esanginikeze impilo,” said Mshengu.

* He loves watching movies and his gym.

* He was on exile in Swaziland, Lusaka.

* He worked as a security guard almost three years before he started his journalism career.

* He is the only son of the late Gabisile Getrude “G.G” Mshengu.
